Here is an heartwarming update on our clean cooking stoves project. Power of Love provided 7,500 clean cooking stoves to families. More specifically, the stoves use much less fuel, smoke generation is almost nil (there is smoke for the first two minutes till the fire is lit properly and then nothing), and cooking speed is much higher with improved safety. These responses are based on Zambian dishes such as mealie meal being cooked on the stoves. Cooked mealie meal is Nshima – a cornmeal porridge and a Zambian staple.
