Serge Kalinovsky

Serge Kalinovsky (14yo) was born in New York City and now lives in Bloomington, Indiana, where he has been studying cello with Susan Moses since 2013 at the Indiana University String Academy. Serge has participated in Pinchas Zukerman’s Young Artists Program in Canada and the Summer String Academy at IU. He started his cello studies in New York with Madeleine Golz, and has played in masterclasses for Hans Jensen, Richard Aaron, Lluís Claret, Amir Eldan, Peter Stumpf and Brinton Smith, among others. He was a finalist at 2019 International Popper Competition in Hungary, 2nd prize winner of 2020 Philadelphia International Music Festival’s Online Concerto Competition and the 2020 Association of the Louisville Orchestra Young Artist Competition, and the winner of 2020 MTNA statewide competition, as well as a First Prize winner of 2020 Indianapolis Symphony Maurer Young Musicians Contest.
