Tatiana Lokhina

Pianist Tatiana Lokhina was born in Moscow, Russia, into a musical family. Having begun her formal training at the age of seven, she gave her first solo recital in Moscow at eleven.

Tatiana is a winner of numerous Russian and international prizes. She performed at the Moscow State Conservatory, Paul Dukas Conservatory (Paris, France), Musikhochschule Hamburg and appeared in concerts in Russia, Italy, Austria, Germany, France and USA. As a solo pianist, Tatiana attended Moscow Ippolitov-Ivanov Music Institute and Musikhochschule Hamburg.

She received her master’s degree in collaborative piano at Lynn University (Boca Raton, Florida) with Professor Lisa Leonard. She is ABD with her DM in collaborative piano at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with Professor Anne Epperson and Professor Kevin Murphy. Tatiana appeared in master classes with many renowned artists, such as Joshua Bell, Lynn Harrell, Martin Katz, Elmar Oliveira, Mauricio Fuks, Carol Vaness and many others.In summer 2018 Tatiana made her first NAXOS recording featuring unpublished works by Beethoven for violin and piano. In summer 2019 she was one of the pianists for International Society of Bassists and for Summer Opera Tel Aviv.

A passionate devotee of vocal repertoire, both opera and art song, Tatiana constantly performs with singers, she is an alumna of SongFest summer program and Fall Island vocal arts seminar. Her album of songs by women composers with soprano Chloe Boelter is set to release in early 2021, as is her series of videos with baritone Thaddaeus Bourne of Appalachian songs arranged by composer Traci Mendel for Beaver Island Music Festival. Tatiana is very interested in early music, which is a minor field in her studies. In February 2019 she appeared as a rehearsal pianist and a continuo keyboardist in a production of Handel’s opera Giulio Cesare.
